Electric Power - The History of its Discovery

The jet has also demonstrated clearly that the fusion devices can be operated in a very safe manner by using the tritium fuel. By using the remote handling techniques the radioactive structures can be easily maintained and also modified in the JET.
The Eco Homes- the eco-homes use the cylindrical solar panels for generating more power. The eco house, which is 800 square foot in size uses the solyndra cylindrical photo-voltaic which by their unique shape capture more amount of sunlight when compared to traditional solar panels. MIT's Alcator C Mod Reactor- MIT's Alcator C Mod Reactor is the tokamak type fusion reactor which is university based. The basic operational problems of the fusion reactors can be solved by this reactor. As per MIT news,self heating sustains the power and fusion reactions in this reactor and no outside heat supply is needed.

A fusion reaction is said to occur when two light atomic nuclei bind or fuse together to form a more heavier nucleus. While binding, a large amount of energy is released which arises form the binding energy that occurs due to strong nuclear force that is manifested as an increase in the reactant's temperature. The fusion power forms the primary research area in plasma physics.
The Advantages- the reaction of the nuclei of tritium and deuterium produces fusion power. The availability of these hydrogen isotopes is in in-exhaustive proportions. The fusion reaction gives helium as its byproduct which is not harmful to the environment. Moreover the fusion reaction does not gives any harmful waste as is the case with fission reaction. Thus, the energy obtained from nuclear fusion reaction can be the answer to global warming, nuclear waste and the impending energy crisis.

Nuclear power plant from Asco | New incident

In Erenovable we get not tired of stress that nuclear energy should be replaced by other forms of energy that are cleaner for the environment and safe society. This is evident by the reality. From the great disaster of Fukushima, to numerous nuclear incidents of "low hazard" that occur in the Spanish nuclear power stations and throughout the world. No we cannot continue relying us Atomic Energy.

Precisely, we returned once again this issue in view of a new incident at the Ascó nuclear power plant, listed as a level 1 according to the CSN (Nuclear Safety Commission) and 0 level according to the IFES (international scale of nuclear accidents).


The incident occurred last April 28, when due to a "human error" was opened a motorized valve isolation of sinks, which resulted in the spill of about 25 m3 of radioactive water from the primary coolant system towards the sink. Switzerland Evaluates The Closure Of Its Nuclear Power Plants

Nuclear power plants in Spain

The world today has its eyes on nuclear power, after the dramatic events triggered by the earthquake in Japan. And it is inevitable to ask what happens in our country? While the nuclear power stations are built with high standards of prevention and safety, are - potentially - highly dangerous before a failure, as the produced in Fukushima Prefecture (Japan).

In 2007 there was an accident of level 2, a radioactive leak in the reactor of Ascó I, which was not notified by the company and that a high fine was imposed and there is an open criminal case.
COFRENTES Nuclear power plant:
Located in Cofrentes (Valencia), reservoir jetties, Júcar river. It has a light water reactor boiling (BWR), with a power of 1.096 MWe. The extension of the authorization of exploitation, which expires 20-03-2011, after the incident in Japan is under review.


TRILLO Nuclear power plant:
Located in Trillo (Guadalajara), on the banks of the Tagus. It has a power of 1066 MWe PWR reactor. In 1992 he recorded an incident level II which affected part of the element of the emergency cooling system.
It is located in Santa María de garoña (Burgos), in the Ebro river. It has a BWR reactor with a capacity of 466 MWe.
Nuclear power plant VANDELLÓS II:
It is located in Hospitalet in the L'infant (Tarragona), on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It has a power of 1.087,1 MWe PWR reactor. Two water leaks occurred in 2004 and 2005, which reached level 2.

Ascó nuclear power plant

In recent days have been known incidents regarding the daily operation of the Ascó Nuclear plant, in Tarragona, relating to a breach in the actions of their operators and a defect in its operation, which has led to the Nuclear Safety Council to mobilise and new controls on the central.
