Geothermal energy by AltaRock energy
A clear example of what is capable this Energy source is at the puritama, where the concentration of heat is capable of mobilizing large masses of water, producing steam and a sudden rise of the same by a crack in the Earth's surface, although, of course, be able to attract is extremely difficult in this State.
That is why geothermal energy requires a great technological advancement which suppose High-performance at the lowest possible cost, in addition to producing the lowest possible modification to the environment where it is located.
Developing project envisages the extraction of energy from those accessible geological formations that require no drilling and conditioning, and that they are capable of generating heat, but they aren't natural puritama.
In them it would ride a closed system for the generation of a large amount of steam with a constant movement of a certain amount of water that condenses and will, precipitate held accountable without assuming an impact on local water supply.

UK may soon start consuming energy generated from geothermal facilities of Iceland
In this regard, the Government of the United Kingdom is about to develop a plan that aptly summarizes power generation of low emission of carbon in a location and its consumption in another location thousands of miles away. According to sources, his Minister of energy Charles Hendry is to visit Iceland to finalize an agreement covers the connection of United Kingdom with abundant geothermal energy of Iceland.
Iceland volcanoes may be able UK

Obviously, given the lack of Iceland of land border with any country in the world, the project may seem ambitious. And it is ambitious; as the effort entails the connection to be made through cables long sea floor of 1,000 to 1,500 km, known as "interconnections". They imply a massive engineering feat, these cables are estimated that about 800 tonnes of copper in each of its cross section kilometer long.
From a broader perspective, this huge network of interconnecters are not only limited to Iceland and United Kingdom. In fact, in the next decade or so, several of these cables is planned to construct the length and breadth of Europe. For example, an enterprising proposal have been Green illuminated connecting Britain with Europe to form a grid of 'super'. This project includes different systems of renewables such as wind, wave and even solar installations. In another instance, UK will benefit long-distance a 1.6GW new plant of nuclear energy that is being built in Flamanville, in France.
And finally, beyond only the credentials awareness of sustainable consumption, such proposals could help really UK long term. With dwindling oil and gas, along with the nature of high emission of coal, the sea in the North of the country stays with the option to only credible export energy from overseas.

U.S. Geothermal Energy
Renewable energy development aims not only to care for the environment, but also the replacement of a nonrenewable resource such as fossil fuels, which in a indefinite period (and not so far) will be exhausted or will have a greater demand the amount harvested, so that one of the various ways to replace it with geothermal energy.
Geothermal energy
On this occasion, we discuss how to prepare the country for U.S. exploitation of this energy source, with the promise that in the not too distant future, be able to replace coal as much as 10 times the performance, and of course, far less polluting .
The first step has been undertaken for such production began with the development of so-called Geothermal Energy Map, which is already available to access Google Earth (clicking through this link) and displays perfectly the resource variables geothermal distributed throughout the United States.
This had been a pilot with the launch last year of a map of geothermal energy to West Virginia, in addition to planning the development of sources of abstraction and a progressive replacement of thermal power plants that dominate the energy production in the area .
What is Geothermal Energy?
For those who do not know what it's about geothermal energy, then we leave some videos describing seek to clarify all your doubts:

Geothermal Power as an alternative energy
We would have done, everything possible to develop geothermal energy technology. This is a largely untapped area of the huge potential of alternative energy sources, as it simply taps for itself, of course, the generation of energy in the country. The maximum power of olive trees on the surface of the crust, in which case we can move and we must be less than. We must make only Tap it and manage it.
Soil types-core temperature is 60 times greater than that of the process of boiled water. The huge heat creates pressures that cause itself only a couple of miles to us below, and these pressures contains huge amounts of energy. Superheated liquid magma, which we see the power and energy in the form each time shall mean volcanic eruption, expect our tap. Also these liquids trickle than steam vents and emerge to the surface. We create your own vents and we can create your own insulation for magma chambers out and converts all this energy of light to electricity and heat our homes. In the event of a Geothermal power plant have been dug well is a good source of magma, or the heated fluid.Piping be fitted with a source, and the surface needed to produce steam to remove liquids down. Steam turbine engine, which produces electricity.
There are no tap that prevent a large scale, which is the criticism of geothermal energy. Critics that research and find resourceful area is too expensive and takes too much time.Geothermal power plant depends more large expenses are not, and does not promise to turn a profit. plant Some geothermal sites, once printed may find to produce a sufficiently large number of steam power plant viable or reliable. And we hear the environmental concerns that were brought up magma may display it with potentially harmful substances.
However, the benefits of geothermal energy subsume these claims only, we, the more.Geothermal energy is only a country of energy means, it does not produce any impurities.Geothermal energy is a very efficient — the channel it is needed for actions are low, when a site is found and that is configured.Geothermal plants, but do not need to be as large as the electricity plants, giant dams or atomic energy facilities — the environment in such a way as to interfere with less and needless energy alternative format is — would we will, much less dependent on oil and coal. perhaps, most importantly — we will never, ever, go to ran out of geothermal energy and raw materials, which continuously expensive as time passes, the actual dollar it is a widely used not. geothermal energy ultimately very inexpensive, when research and power plant construction costs are recouped.

GEOTHERMAL IN COLOMBIA
The Colombian Institute of electric power and the Latin American energy organization identified three areas for its geothermal potential:
(i) Azufral, in the Department of Nariño, where is located the Azufral volcano and apparently there is a high temperature deposit
(ii) the Cerro Negro-Tufiño located between Colombia and Ecuador, where the volcano Chiles is located on a magnetic Chamber of 5-10 km deep temperature between 220 and 230 ° C, optimal temperatures for use in the geothermal power generation, and
(iii) Paipa, located in the Eastern Cordillera in Boyaca, where sediment and magma lie at a depth of approximately 5 kilometres (Pérez y Osorio 2002). In addition to these locations, an area in volcanic massif Ruiz-Tolima looks promising and is planned for research by the company INGEOMINAS.
The potential total and by region of renewable energy in the country is something that still needs to be analyzed in detail.

GEOTHERMAL PERU
Estimated potential of Peru for the generation of electricity with thermal water, geothermal, from energy amounts to approximately 3,000 megawatts (Mw), said today the Deputy Minister of energy, Pedro Gamio.
He pointed out that this amount has been estimated by Japanese experts and announced that in the South of the country already began studies for the generation of electricity in the geothermal fields Borateras and hot in the Department of Tacna.
According to presented pre-feasibility studies, the potential for generation of electricity from both fields amounts to 150 Mw Calientes would provide 100 Mw and Borateros 50 Mw.
"This project is the beginning of the development of a new source of renewable generation is geothermal energy that has several advantages because it is renewable, helps local development and involves a strengthening of the energy infrastructure of South Peru," he told the Andean Agency.
He stressed that these geothermal energy projects help develop a Springs ecotourism project in the area. They would enhance agriculture to provide her appropriate water to remove heavy metals they contain water used in the project, and it would expand the agricultural boundary.
"The most important thing is that it is a source of cheap power that a central Diesel 2 or Residual, and never dries", he stressed.
The Deputy Minister referred Peru annually need 300 additional Mw, the growth in demand for electricity.
It noted guarantees a rate of internal return 14% according to project pre-feasibility Borateros and hot.
"If one includes the component of clean development, i.e. the carbon bond, which is a very important financial lever has the developed world to support renewable energy projects and reduce the emission of gaseous pollutants in planet Earth, the internal rate of return could be to 20 percent", explained.
The project is financing the Bank for international cooperation of Japan (JBIC) and the Organization of the trade outside of Japan (Jetro), as well as the Ministry of energy and mines (MEM).
Project pre-feasibility, Enrique Lima company West Japan Engineering Consultants, stated that the investment required to build the hot geothermal electricity generation plants would be 130 million dollars and Borateros 100 million.
He said that 30 years of operation of the plant would achieve savings of 60 percent compared to one that uses natural gas, therefore, in the long term its operation is much cheaper.
However, the initial investment would be very high for the intervention of a private investor and the Japan Government could fund its construction through credits.
Lima also estimated that the potential of geothermal energy in Peru could conservatively supply 50 percent of the needs of electricity in the country amounting to 6,000 Mw.
