Smart Electric Vehicles

Smart Fortwo Electric Drive and Smart Electric Bike, the new electric vehicles that make up the Smart range. All a bet for the environment and sustainable development, ecology and betting on further technological innovations that improve the performance of previous versions, increasing both its speed and autonomy.

The Smart know that all electrically powered and fully sustainable, and without losing the features necessary for the city. Smart improves range of 135 km to the previous generation, a figure which now increases to 145 km with the arrival of the new Smart Fortwo Electric Drive, a power that can be used for both urban and intercity routes.

This new version of the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive is capable of reaching 125 km / h top speed, with acceleration from 0-100 km / h in 11.5 seconds, halving the time it used the previous generation was 26.7 seconds to reach 100 km / h
.

The bike has a Smart Electric 250 watt electric motor which engages on the rear wheel and fed through a lithium ion battery 400 Wh. The electric motor assists the user while pedaling, ie complements the physical effort of the user who holds the bicycle. It also has 4 different levels of pedal assistance, so that anyone will be able to move in this mode of transport without worrying about their physical condition and will be assisted by the electric motor at all times.

The Ebike has a range of between 30 and 100 miles, something really interesting when move around the city. Another curious fact is that it is not necessary to have a specific permission, because its electric motor switches off automatically when exceeding 25 km / h.

New Range of Smart Electric Vehicles

Smart presents new Smart Fortwo Electric Drive and Smart Electric Bike models. Electric vehicles and that the brand wants to highlight its commitment for the environment and sustainable development, improving further benefits such as speed or autonomy, a step forward in the development and electric mobility.

In this new phase of electric vehicles has gone from a range of 135 km that had the previous generation to 145 km of the new Smart Fortwo Electric drive, which will allow us both to longer tours within and outside the city.

The new Smart Fortwo Electric Drive is capable of reaching 125 km/h maximum speed, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11.5 seconds, a revolution to verify that the previous generation employed 26.7 seconds to reach the same speed.

If we look at the autonomy of the electric bicycle has a swing of 30 to 100 kilometres, and it offers some really interesting when it comes to move in our city benefits.

The Smart Electric Bike mounts a 250 watt electric motor, attached to the rear wheel and that is powered by a Li-ion battery 400 Wh lithium. Electric power is provided while the user pedals, i.e., is complemented by the physical effort of the person who occupies the bicycle.

It incorporates 4 different levels of assistance to pedalling, so any person for very little physical shape that has have the ability to navigate any street in your city without worrying about the slope of the ground which circulate. Another interesting fact is that you can drive without having any specific permission for her, since that the assistance of the electric motor will turn off when you exceed 25 km/h Post sponsored

Electrical vehicles | New South Korea electrical buses

Continue to arrive news telling cities worldwide environmental policies that implement the use of alternative fuel vehicles. In this case of Seoul, South Korea, where Government Metropolitan is taking its first steps with the launch of electric buses, the first stage of a plan with a view to 2020.

Plan emerges on the initiative of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, which has mandated replace buses that circulate through the famous Mt. Namsan Park by electric vehicles . Already work 5 units, but he is expected in the short term is to cover the entire fleet of this route, composed of a total of 14 units.

Project search go progressively expanding the amount of transport with alternative fuel, looking to achieve the ambitious number of 120,000 electric vehicles by 2020.

The new electric buses are produced by Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hankuk Fiber. Its features include the following:1105 meters 83 km with a single cargarecarga largoautonomía full battery at 30 km/hmotor 100 of 240 kw maximum minutosvelocidad high capacity litiopiso under regenerative braking system-ion battery

This one of the most salient points is short time battery recharge only 30 minutes, which makes it a very promising vehicle. We hope these electric buses to reach success expected and soon other lines of the city of Seoul can change this ecological transport.

Sustainable transport more electric vehicles

Highways of today

There is no question about transportation industry being one the major contributing factors to the total quantity of carbon emissions all over the world. Core statistical figures certainly attest to this new model vehicles accounting for than gasoline with 20 percent of the astronomical 8000 million tons of total carbon dioxide, emitted annually.

In fact, the average passenger car in United States emits 11,450 (5,190 kg) pounds of greenhouse gases per year, thus translating to an overall ambit of more than 33 percent of US's total carbon also. Even when it comes to spatial habitats, the substantial carbon footprint of an individual fossil fuel powered automobile can account for loss of over a whopping 50,000 square meters of area.

In such adverse conditions, electric vehicles are often presented as the righteous saviors of our environment. However, when practicality knocks at the door, they have their own set of problems, which we have briefly discussed later.

The problem with electric cars

The greatest predicament of electric cars is related to commercial economy, rather than environmental effect. In the current scenario, an EV demands more upfront cost from the customer, than comparable its gas guzzling cousin. Marcille, there are a slew of other problems, given the relatively nascent stage of the whole technological scope electric. These include consumer oriented obstacles like lack of Figo, or in this case, charging infrastructure, the psychological range anxiety and even maintenance and servicing factors. Finally, when we consider their intrinsic power systems, large scale lithium ion battery production in itself can be pollution intensive.

Green transport beyond EVs

1 Air powered vehicles: Toyota's air powered Ku:rin

Air in itself can be considered as one of the greenest forms of 'fuel'. In this regard, there are some independent conceptions that are powered exclusively by compressed air. However, big names as usual lend greater credibility to a nascent scope. Well, this time it is the world's largest automaker Toyota, who has kicked up a few notches by conceiving the three wheeler Ku:rin ' green'. Holding the world record for being the fastest car powered by compressed air, the arrow shaped vector has a speed of 80.3 mph (129.2km/h). Though, there is still room for further development, as the current range is marked at to paltry 2 miles (3.2 km), because of the low energy density of compressed air.

2 Biofuel powered vehicles: Lotus demand 265E

With a breathtaking acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and an exhilarating top speed of 158 mph (253 km/h), the Lotus demand 265E is certainly the boisterous monster we auto fans pray for. However, it is the green credentials that have tickled our fancies. Powered by a supercharged 1.8 litre engine with 260 hp capacity, the fuel used by this classy specimen is uniquely bio ethanol. This particularly naturalistic component comprises of around 85 percent ethanol (an alcohol) and 15 percent petrol. As for its advantages, the fuel produces more power in the engine than with conventional petrol, and also contribute to net carbon reduction. But, on the other hand, it does reduce the overall fuel economy of the car.

3 Hydrogen internal combustion engine: The Scorpion

When it comes to pure style factor, the 'curvalicious' Scorpion from Texas based widely Motor Company, is surely the eye candy to crave for. But, beyond the visual allure, it is the innovative power train under the hoods that matters most for our precious environment. In that regard, the company has taken the innovative path with their specially designed hybrid mechanism that entails an internal combustion engine configured to burn a combination of gasoline and hydrogen. This substantially decreases both CO2 and NOx emissions, along with improving upon overall fuel economy. Marcille, the car only requires an on board water tank which is controlled to dual computer processor to generate high pressure hydrogen.

4 Maglev vehicles: Dualmode 2030 concept vehicle

As can be ascertained by the apt name, this novel conception, which is still in its conceptual stage, will have two different maneuvering systems incorporated into a single automobile. In fact, the designer Geoffrey Cooper has envisaged the Dualmode 2030 car to have an autonomous driving mechanism, when traveling through expansive, traffic free highways maglev. This will allow an automatic mode of steering, while the driver relaxes throughout the zero emission commute. However, when the vehicle enters the city zone, the conventional gasoline oriented driving system will take over, pertaining to fully manual controls.

5 Human powered cars: HumanCar

Taking a page right out of 'The Flintstones', the human powered car is as sustainable as it gets. Powered by unique series of back and forth cranks, which are to be operated by the passengers, the whole footpedals only works well with four people on board. Of course, the Human Car could also be driven by a single driver, but then it will be powered by a hybrid engine or a fully electrical set up. As for solid specs, the $15,000 vehicle can supposedly move to a top speed of 30 mph (48 km/h) with the 'human power' of four.

6 Hydrogen Petrol powered cars

British scientists are in the process of devising an artificial petrol component which is based on hydrogen, rather than carbon. This means the final by product after combustion will be limited to water, instead of carbon harmful fumes. However, even beyond its fascinatingly green potential, the artificial petrol will most likely be ludicrously cost effective. In fact, according to the researchers, the advanced fuel is expected to have a price of around just $1.50 to gallon, by its final stage of development after two years.

The Bottomline

Now, the only silver lining in the current situation is that the carrier of our green technology has certainly expanded beyond the constraints of electric driven mechanisms. Yes, some of them may still be relegated within the ambit of concepts and prototypes, but their continued development in the future may herald credible to more collective solution, both from perspectives of environment and user convenience.

Five most unusual vehicles powered by biofuels

Vehicles powered by biofuels Most unusual vehicles powered by biofuels
Today, in a world, where pollution is growing at a fast pace and the fact that all of us face many health problems because of that, we need to urgently find ways to make this world a cleaner and a greener place to live in.

There are so many vehicles running on the roads, each adding their share of pollution. But, as these vehicles have become an inevitable part of our lives, we should find vehicles that are pollution free so that the future generations can live healthier and cleaner lives.

There are already some such engines that do run on bio fuels. Bio fuels are made from natural substances which burn completely without giving out harmful gasses that cause pollution. But, due to economies of scale, bio fuels are more expensive than the usual petrol and diesel.

The other factor against bio-fuels is that their energy content is lesser than conventional fuels. None-the-less, efforts are being made, the world over, to make the bio-fuels more viable and the vehicles more popular, for a better future for all.

Here is a list of five some unusual vehicles powered by bio-fuels:
1. Biodiesel Hummers

Biodiesel HummersThese cars are the same as Hummers usually are, but they run on biodiesel
These cars are the same as Hummers usually are. But, the catch is, that they run on biodiesel, fuel that is made from decomposed plants.

The fuel when used gives out the least amount of pollution making the vehicle completely eco-friendly. Biodiesel Hummers are the ultimate replacement for the usual gasoline ones and are slowly becoming really popular among Hummer lovers. The biodiesel Hummer gives a mileage of 19 mpg and you can also get your gasoline Hummer converted to a biodiesel one.

2. Hybrid vehicles

Hybrid vehiclesThese vehicles use two sources of fuel
These vehicles use two sources of fuel. One of them being a conventional source like petrol and the other being the eco-friendly one, that is electricity. By using electricity, a part of the emissions of the vehicle are completely harmless. These vehicles, thus have a higher mileage as well. These vehicles have an internal combustion engine and an electric one.

There is a long list of hybrid vehicles that exist today. From scooters, bicycles, mopeds to heavy vehicles like trains, ships, aircraft and even cranes, all come in the hybrid form. A new form of hybrid vehicles is the human-powered electric form.

This includes electric bicycles and electric skateboards, etc. There are also a range of passenger vehicles that are now coming in the hybrid form. Most of the passenger car makers are coming up with newer varieties of hybrid with improved technologies. These vehicles are pollution free, but the cost of fuel is a bit of a concern in this case as well.

3. Electric cars with nanotechnology batteries

The advantage of nanotechnology batteries is that they are very light in weight and take very less time to recharge. They also, are more durable and therefore last longer.

Engines running on these types of batteries boast of zero emissions! Moreover, according to some studies, Nano Lithium-X battery technology has the best output of energy as compared to other technologies available. Nanotechnology offers higher rates of battery charging and more energy supply as compared to other eco-friendly sources of energy.

4. Green races

Green racesAn example of this was Audi which won a race with its bio-diesel powered car
Since road races are a rage among race lovers, we also need to find ways to have eco-friendly races for a cleaner future.

An example of this was Audi which won a race with its bio-diesel powered car. Efforts are being made by the organizers of these events to reduce their carbon footprints and introduce more vehicles that run on bio-fuels, to the racing track.

5. Travel to the green way

Travel to the green way Successful prior experiences of bio-fuels with jets and fast cars, bio-fuels do give a ray of hope in this arena as well

Alternative rocket fuels are being devised to help us reach space in a greener way. As the outer space is light years apart, this is much easier to talk about than made a reality. Although, with successful prior experiences of bio-fuels with jets and fast cars, bio-fuels do give a ray of hope in this arena as well. We can now confidently say that bio-fuels will surely work well to give energy to spaceships. The use of rocket fuel, which is inevitable today may not be so in the future.

The harmful emissions of this fuel should be done away with, as soon as possible. As going to outer space, now-a-days, is a regular phenomenon, we surely need to work on bio-fuels as a reliable source for rockets as well.

With so many new vehicles running on bio-fuels and newer ones being worked on, we can surely expect a greener future for the world.

Vehicles with alternative fuel

Much talks about new technologies applied to transportation on "ecological car". And there is a fundamental requirement using an alternative fuel. Thus refers to sources of energy other than gasoline or diesel, i.e. does not need oil.

image

Several factors are combined in the development of vehicles with alternative fuels. The strong increase in taxes on petroleum derivatives, more controls in the field of environmental laws, more the possibility of future restrictions associated with greenhouse gas emissions.

Why automotive corporations and Governments are working to make viable new forms of motorization of the car. Most of this development focuses on hybrid vehicles that use both electricity and internal combustion. But there are many other forms of vehicles with alternative fuels, these are some of the most remarkable.

image

Use alcohol as fuel for internal combustion engines is taking great momentum by their potential economic and environmental benefits in the long term.Ethanol and methanol are used for this purpose, both are derived from petroleum and natural gas.But ethanol has the greater interest since it could become a given renewable resource can produced from certain crops, making it a biofuel.
