Logitech Launches Upgraded Solar-Powered K760 Keyboard

Computer accessories manufacturer Logitech has designed a solar-powered keyboard called K760 that will seek to free users from the shackles of energy dependency. The K760 follows in the footsteps of the company’s previously released K750 and the Solar Keyboard Folio designed for the iPad. The latest offering has Bluetooth connectivity and will pair up with Apple products to help improve the way users interact with these devices.

Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard
The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard has been designed keeping in mind size and aesthetics. Users will be able to pair it up with their devices seamlessly and it wouldn’t look out of place amongst Apple’s products. What’s even better is that the keyboard can be paired with up to three devices, allowing users to easily switch between the trio without needing to reconnect.

The K760 also features Mac-specific keys like Brightness, Command and Eject to give users a familiar feel. The concave key design allows for faster typing and better precision than an on-screen keyboard. The keys are well-spaced and don’t feel cramped either. At the top, an array of solar panels with the Logitech logo lines the keyboard, giving it a unique touch compared to standard products. A power button on the right turns the keyboard on and off.

The K760 can operate for three months on a full charge. Aside from sunlight, it also charges itself using artificial light both indoors and outdoors. Eco conscious users will be pleased to know that unlike the earlier versions, the latest model is PVC-free and is packed in a recyclable box to further reduce its carbon footprint.

The K760 will make its way into the United States and Europe this month and will sell for $79.99 a unit. The non-glossy design is bound to go down well with buyers as the earlier versions sported a glossy finish that users said attracted dust and showed up too many fingerprints.

I-Cool Solar, solar-powered

It has gone a long time since the last time that we had referred to the possibility of using solar combined to an air conditioner, something which was then a project that had enough, try taking everything very uncertain and no feasible and cost-effective applications at this time.

Well, something very similar is what has been done together by signatures project ICL Co Ltd., Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. and Nippon Fruehauf Co, who joined forces to give rise to an industrial called I -Cool Solar, which will maintain a fresh and comfortable using solar energy environment.

To do this there was no more than put a series of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of this vehicle, which capture all possible energy and store in a specially placed battery for this purpose, achieving considerable fuel savings, or at least 1% that will add enough if what we combine with other systems to reduce consumption.
These companies are planning to start series production of these devices beyond than 2012, looking to equip a large number of industrial cars.
