Mitsubishi begins operating the smart grid demonstration project
EV-Smart grid demonstration project
start of operation of "M-tech Labo," a smart grid demonstration system
Labo M-tech is one of four Japan smart grid initiatives that seek to demonstrate how these systems can make a big difference to ensure smooth and uninterrupted power supply. It will showcase the burden changing by being charged at night when energy demands are low and stored the renewable energy will power be routed to the grid when necessary by the offices and facilities of the factory of rechargeable batteries.
Companies engaged in the construction and the operating system are composed of Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. All three are of the opinion that using used rechargeable batteries and those of EVs will significantly lower the cost of establishment of dedicated smart grid instead of battery systems that are very expensive. Companies look to move towards energy systems Greens for a sustainable society in which CO2 emissions are reduced and more easily satisfy the energy requirements.
For this year, the group will seek to demonstrate a reduction of fluctuation of energy in the administration of MMC Nagoya plant building that will use energy of Labo M-tech with a maximum power of kW. The objective is to establish a reduction of 33 per cent of the range of fluctuation of 180kW. Companies will also validate the electric vehicle system integration of EVs adding capacity data download available of each electric vehicle while still letting them be used as a means of transport.
